According to the Los Angeles Times News, more than 30 retired prosecutors, prominent professors and other legal heavyweights signed on to a letter this week asking for a federal investigation of the Orange County district attorney’s office..
“We the undersigned share a firm belief in our criminal justice system and its overall ability to produce fair and reliable results,” according to the letter addressed to U.S. Atty. Gen. Loretta Lynch. “Compelling evidence of pervasive police and prosecutorial misconduct in Orange County, however, has caused us grave concern.” http://www.latimes.com/local/orangecounty/la-me-oc-jailhouse-20151120-story.html
Mothers of Lost Children would add that over the years many Complaints have been filed with Kamala Harris, AG for California regarding misconduct of the District Attorney office not only in Orange County but statewide, with no result. We question the pattern and practice of ignoring misconduct and failures to investigate and urge an investigation by the Department of Justice.
Department of Justice
U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch
Dear Attorney General Loretta Lynch,
Thousands of Complaints have been filed both in the state AG offices, in the Department of Justice and Office of Violence Against Women regarding a failure to protect our most vulnerable citizens.
The most dangerous time for a mother and her children is when she leaves. We bring this message each year to Washington DC with thousands of testimonies of mothers failed by their District Attorney’s who do not prosecute Domestic Violence and Abuse after Divorce. Judge Susan Carbon testified that protective parents are losing custody in Family Courts across the Nation during round table discussions with OVW as found in the Defending Childhood Report. Eric Holder, the former Attorney General questioned why Batterers and Molesters were getting custody and how having contact with a dangerous father was beneficial to the child? Yet, the concealment of these crimes continue.
When law enforcement fails to recognize family abuse as a crime, they force mothers into Civil Courts where they lose custody 85% of the time according to the Judges Foundation.
According to a conservative estimate by experts at the Leadership Council on Child Abuse and Interpersonal Violence (LC), more than 58,000 children a year are ordered into unsupervised contact with physically or sexually abusive parents following divorce in the United States. This is over twice the yearly rate of new cases of childhood cancer.
District Attorneys Nationwide, like Orange County DA, fail Safe non-offending mothers who bring evidence of abuse during domestic violence divorces. Acts of Violence and neglect are ignored as the DA who fails to protect or mishandled abuse cases, relying on outdated practices that violate law and put victims in danger. These Custody Myths must be addressed. We need improved policies system wide that put the safety of children first.
It’s time to investigate Orange County, California District Attorney Tony Rackauckas.
Its time to #bringlexihome

Tell the Department of Justice its time to investigate crimes being ignored by DA’s and family courts. Violence against women and children should not be hidden in closed courtrooms without transcripts and representation. We must open these cases up and reunify children with safe mothers before it’s too late. We want safety first in all custody matters, Investigate Orange County California. #bringlexihome, #molc.
